2012 Bat Changes


Changes to Approved Bats in 2012
USSSA has mandated new bat standards starting in January 2012.  This change will effect big barrel "senior league" and small barrel bats.  This change will effect most bats purchased prior to July 2011 and some purchased after that.  You will need to check your small barrel bats for compliance.

 Effective January 1, 2012
   Big Barrel Bats (2⅝” or 2¾”)
  • Have the new USSSA Mark on its taper OR
  • Be a Qualified BBCOR bat and NHFS approved OR
  • Be a Wood Bat
   Small Barrel Bats (2¼” and less) 
  • Wood, OR
  • Made with the old USSSA mark, OR
  • The New USSSA Mark will be allowed in USSSA play.
 Effective January 1, 2014
   Small Barrel Bats (2¼” and less) 
  • Wood, OR
  • The New USSSA Mark will be allowed in USSSA play.
